A pop-up thunderstorm has ambushed a young couple's kayaking trip on the Hudson River. The woman miraculously made it back to shore, but her fiance remains missing. Detective Ebony Jones, first on the scene, is shocked to learn the victim's identity and his connection to her estranged best friend, attorney Jessie Martin. Neither woman will stop until the truth about the man's drowning is uncovered, even if it destroys their friendship and their lives. But the evidence is as murky as the secretive Hudson - only the river knows whether the death was an accident, a suicide, or a murder.
